General Manager, Bowhead Mission Solutions

Dan See is a general manager of Bowhead Mission Solutions, LLC and a director supporting the systems and technology group with over 39 years of combined experience in the Department of Defense (DoD), federal and state government, and commercial industry. He currently leads the Mission Assurance (MA) Sector with oversight of multiple programs supporting MA Services such as Risk Management, Business Continuity, Physical Security, AT/FP, and logistics. He is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Risk Management with a concentration on Analytical Risk Management (ARM) supporting the MA disciplines.

He has successfully lead risk management programs and/or assessments supporting Physical Security, Personnel Security, Acquisition Risk Management, Aviation Safety, Air Cargo (Domestic and International), and Critical Infrastructure. He has also supported risk management and assessments for areas such as Business Continuity, Continuity of Operations, Emergency Planning, and Disaster Recovery and co-developed the Risk Management Professional Certification course for the Disaster Recovery Institute (DRI) International. While at Bowhead he continued to lead multiple risk management/assessment projects such as, the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration, Transport Canada vulnerability “risk” assessments for the air cargo industry to support policy and regulation changes within the Canadian air cargo industry supporting passenger safety.

Before joining the Bowhead family he was a key contributor in the development of the original risk methodology supporting Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for the United States Domestic Air Cargo Assessments after 9/11. This risk management program was turned over to TSA Agents after the first 10 U.S. Domestic Airports where completed and reported on proving the methodology. This program was critical post 9/11 changing the way air cargo was handled ensuring a better security posture and helped to change our U.S. Policies and Regulations for the Air Cargo Industry. Mr. See was also instrumental in the development of a risk management tool called ARM-IR that was deployed by Booz Allen for their risk assessment teams and risk clients. While at Booz Allen and Hamilton Mr. See was the team lead for the Analytical Risk Management business team where he consulted to the US Government and Commercial Industry in matters of risk management (programs, assessments, and training) mainly supporting the Law Enforcement and Intelligence Communities using the ARM methodology.

See is a retired Marine of 21 years. His service included such billets as Senior Drill Instructor, MCRD San Diego, CA., multiple units within the 2nd Marine Division, Camp LeJune, NC., a Marine Security Guard at the American Embassy Warsaw, Poland and the American Consulate General, Hamburg, Germany. Mr. See retired from HMX-1, the Presidential Helicopter Squadron as the Communications Chief, Senior Communications Systems Operator (CSO), Senior NATOPS Instructor/Evaluator for the Communications Systems Office. He was responsible for executive communications for the President, Vice President and Executive staff while embarked on the executive fleet helicopters worldwide. See co-authored the first Communications Systems Operator NATOPS manual for the VH-60N Presidential Helicopter. See retired from the Marine Corps in 1997 as a Master Sergeant.
