Improving Your BC Plan using the FFIEC’s IT Handbook

The FFIEC’s IT Handbook can translate nicely into a basic BC Plan outline however will this actually fit your company’s resiliency needs? This presentation will look at how to simply turn the FFIEC’s IT Workbook into an outline for BC Planning as well as looking at the FFIEC Examination Procedures. In this session we will also look at how to leverage the FFIEC’s IT Handbook Appendix A to make your business better prepared for your FFIEC Audit.

Donis Heard

Donis Heard currently serves as the Business Continuity Management Planner for Global Payments Inc. With over 17 years’ experience with Business Continuity Management, planning, Incident response and crisis management including 16 years with Microsoft, 12 of these years as a Technical Account Manager (TAM). Donis also served in several other positions such as Rapid Onsite Support, Microsoft CRITSIT Support and on the Microsoft Premier US Planned Events and Emergency Response Team as the BMC Lead.

He served six years in the US Navy and attended California State University, Bakersfield. He is a Certified Business Continuity Professional as well as having held ITIL Foundations, CompTIA Security+, and several Microsoft certifications.

Heard believes strongly in giving back to his community and is active as a volunteer with the American Red Cross as a Government Liaison, Instructor and Community Disaster Educator as well as volunteering with his local Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.). He currently resides in the Atlanta Metro with his wife and three children. In his spare time he enjoys church and scouting activities with his wife and children as well as Krav Maga.
